Dior signature skis

Because the snow-covered slopes will one day reopen, Dior is unveiling its very first Ski Capsule. A collection of ready-to-wear, skis, snowboards and accessories presented by SoBARNES!

Kim Jones, Artistic Director of men’s collections, has once again shown perfect intuition in collaborating with specialist brands Descente, AK SKI and POC to create this capsule collection combining cutting-edge expertise and minimalist design for a daring look. And at SoBARNES, that’s something we love!

Designed as a limited edition with Japanese expert Descente, the puffer jackets are sewn with eco-responsible nylon, treated with an ironing and pressing technique that guarantees the fabric is waterproof, ultra-light and insulating. Then a specific tapping process is applied, strengthening its impermeability. A true masterpiece.

The skis have been developed by the Swiss AK SKI workshops using craftsmanship combining machine precision with painstaking work by hand. The letters of the Dior logo are scrupulously cut out and fastened to the wood before the different layers of fibreglass and resin are applied, forming their singular composition. And if that doesn’t make you want to jump in the first cable car available...

The helmets, designed by POC in Sweden, are made from a polystyrene mould providing maximum protection, with a navy-blue matte coating, the Dior logo on the front and an adjustable ventilation system. Not to mention the carbon fibre and wood snowboard, (ski!) goggles with Zeiss interchangeable lenses, and calfskin and rubber lace-up ankle boots.

Word from the mountains is ski season is just around the corner.
