My cabana in Cap Ferrat

The legendary Club Dauphin at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat reopened in June 2020 with new cabanas specially designed to allow occupants to enjoy one of the French Riviera’s most stunning panoramic views both in style and peace and quiet.

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat - After five months of renovation, the Club Dauphin – the unrivalled seaside spot at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat – has reopened. It now offers new cabanas designed to provide maximum privacy with one of the most spectacular views of the Mediterranean. These cabanas are nestled in the fragrant gardens of the Grand-Hôtel like a bold promise: to give you a unique experience of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat (and one that’s of course 100% #SoBARNES). Inside, you can make the most of the famous seawater pool while enjoying the attentive five-star Four Seasons service.

Ever since the 1930s, the Club Dauphin, perched on the tip of the Cap Ferrat peninsula in a protected area overlooking the craggy coast and the Pelagos sea sanctuary, has been a haven, far from the hustle and bustle. This winning formula has won the hearts of many writers, actors and celebrities looking for that easy living found only on the French Riviera. Famous names include Winston Churchill and Charlie Chaplin, who both contributed to the Club Dauphin’s legend by spending summers beside the impressive 33m-long (108ft) seawater pool facing the Mediterranean.

Just like in the past, hotel guests, regulars and the peninsula’s inhabitants come here today to meet up with family or friends in this unique ambiance that combines sophistication and relaxation. The 19 cabanas were designed by Swedish interior architect Martin Brudnizki. They are made from natural materials picked for their intimate harmony with nature. The cabanas are also equipped with comfy deckchairs, a mini bar with a drinks unit, a built-in safe, sockets and USB ports. Bespoke furniture in soft hues recall the colour of the earth while upholstered chairs evoke the sea’s blue tone and teak units reflect the peninsula’s wild, rocky scrubland.

The cabanas are available in three sizes, with space for two, four or six people. They all offer a breathtaking sea view. Some also look out over the Club Dauphin pool, which has also been revamped. In the gardens below, a door leads to the coastal path, where guests can explore the region while admiring some of the French Riviera’s most beautiful panoramas.

Bespoke cocktails and romantic evenings

We wanted to preserve the soul our cabanas”, explains François-Régis Simon, the Hotel Manager. Our guests are very fond of them. So we decided to keep their simple design but make them more comfortable, with new facilities and a bespoke indoor layout”.

Each cabana is equipped with a pager so guests can enjoy their meal in private yet call a waiter at any time. Couples can book a cabana for a romantic evening, enjoying fine cuisine in front of a sunset. And that’s not the only good news: the cabanas are available both to guests from the hotel and non-guests. What’s more, the cabanas can be rented on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, or even for a whole season.

The magic of the French Riviera in the roaring twenties is back. Something we at #SoBARNES are particularly excited to hear!
