Don't go shouting it from, well, the all-new rooftop of the Hôtel de Crillon, accessible via a secret suite. Let’s keep it between us and #SoBARNES.
PARIS - Paris’ best kept secret And yet, the Bernstein suite at the Crillon is probably one of the most stunning you’ll find anywhere. On the hotel’s 6th and top floor, overlooking Place de la Concorde and facing the Assemblée Nationale, it comes with a 2,153 sq ft rooftop terrace affording 180° views that truly take your breath away: a direct line of sight to the Eiffel Tower, with the Grand Palais and Paris’ finest monuments spread out along the horizon. At a time when luxury hotels are struggling, the Hôtel de Crillon had the ingenious idea of opening up access to this rooftop, from 24 August to the end of October.
Provided you book well in advance (naturally there’s a waiting list for such an exclusive venue!), this holy grail of rooftop bars is open every evening from 5pm to 11pm. What better place to sample the Crillon’s new cocktail list, which makes for a tasty intermediary between Paris’ cultural heritage, the unbridled creativity of its street art and the talent of the hotel’s top mixologists. And for that #SoBARNES detail: the cocktail list is designed like an illustrated tourist map, each recipe corresponding to a famous site in Paris with flavours that tell its tale (you won't be disappointed!).
And if cocktails aren't your thing, the head sommelier Xavier Thuizat has a selection of the finest wines and champagnes, to be enjoyed with an array of open sandwiches topped with seasonal vegetables and cured meats. Not to mention the desserts by head pastry chef Matthieu Carlin.
The name of this VIP spot, you ask? ‘Bonsoir Paris’. Fitting, wouldn't you say?
