The Alpine we’ve all been waiting for

Since its rebirth at the end of 2017, Alpine has regained its aura among car purists. Now the task is to keep the dream alive, a mission which has been accomplished (for now) with the A110 LÉGENDE GT 2021 limited series. Slip on your open-knuckle gloves with SoBARNES.

Test drivers around the world hailed the Alpine A110 when it was introduced in 2017. Extraordinary power-to-weight ratio and agility for the ultimate in driving pleasure, a subtle hint of the past in its styling, and a moderate price tag - what more could you ask for? The golden hours of French motorsport seem to be making a comeback, especially since Alpine has taken the place of Renault (its parent company) in Formula 1 since 2020.

After the A110 and its 252hp, considered a little timid in the face of German competition (did someone say Porsche?), came its spiced up and a little more spartan version in 2019, the S, with 292hp. An alluring start to the range, but one that forced a choice between sport and comfort. But Alpine has found its feet with the A110 LÉGENDE GT 2021, which combines the best of its two elders. In other words, it’s solved the squaring of the circle in its automotive version.

To put it simply, the A110 LÉGENDE GT 2021 has borrowed the 4 cylinder 1.8- litre turbocharged engine from the 292hp model, with the 7-speed automatic gearbox. Which allows it to go from 0 to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph (on the track, of course). But it also adopts the comfort of the original A110 chassis, with some top-of-the-range features including leather and carbon elements.

Enough to make you want to jump behind the wheel to do justice to the brand’s new signature look:

Available in a limited edition of just 300 units for Europe from €71,600 (£61,655), the A110 LÉGENDE GT 2021 comes in two body colours: Mercury Silver and Abyss Blue. But you'll find all that and more on the Alpine app (iOS and Android), which is the only way to order this nifty toy!
