Piaget gives new meaning to personalisation

Offering customers the opportunity to personalise their watch to make it truly unique has always been a tradition at Piaget. But thanks to Infinitely Personal, the Swiss brand is taking the concept digital to make it all that much more exclusive.

Owning an Altiplano Ultimate Concept or an Altiplano Tourbillon is the holy grail in itself for many enthusiasts of fine watches. But for those who refuse to have the same watch as their neighbour (which is statistically improbable in the first place), Piaget is offering the possibility to create bespoke versions of these two exceptional timepieces. Quite simply by using a tablet, whether online or in store, to choose from among the 195,000 permutations of the Altiplano Ultimate Concept and the 4 million different possibilities for the Altiplano Tourbillon:

The Altiplano Ultimate Concept (the world's thinnest mechanical watch, a true feat of engineering) allows customers to choose the colour of the bridge, screws, hands and main plate, as well as a matching or contrasting strap in terms of colour and material. For the Altiplano Tourbillon, Piaget offers a choice of different types of gold and gem settings, and even proposes to match the dial’s shade with a specific pantone from a personal photograph. Customers can also add an engraved “secret message” in an equally secret place. The 100% #SoBARNES detail that changes everything!

The history of personalised Piaget watches dates back to the 60s with the launch of the Style Selector at the New York store. Customers like Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor and Salvator Dali could browse a selection of look books presenting a myriad of case shapes, dial materials, settings and straps. Once the different elements were selected, the specifications were sent to the manufacture in Switzerland and the customer could come back a few months later to collect the watch of their dreams.

Needless to say, the unique parts ordered by members of the Piaget Society in the sixties are highly coveted by collectors today!
