Jaguar, the I-PACE raises the game

The 2019 Car of the Year has taken its sophistication to a new level in 2020. The all-electric SUV by Jaguar has an infotainment system inspired by and as intuitive as your smartphone as well as a charger system that reduces charge time.

Electric is becoming the new norm in all automotive segments today, from utility vehicles to limousines. As part of its first foray into this strategic field for the future of all brands, Jaguar made a storm in late 2018 with the I-PACE, described as the “world’s first premium all-electric performance SUV”. Since its inception, the I-PACE has won over 80 awards, including 2019 World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year and World Green Car. We are thus in the presence of a Jaguar that has torn up the rule book to become one of the most attractive electric cars on the market.

With its two electric motors producing an exceptional 400bhp, its aluminium structure and its very low centre of gravity, the I-PACE gives the perfect balance between all-wheel drive, sophistication, Jaguar hallmark luxury and agility – all combined with incredible range in real driving conditions, as well as practicality.

And as Jaguar is never content to rest on its laurels, the I-PACE now has even more tech to make the driving experience even more thrilling. Starting with the new Pivi Pro infotainment system: just as intuitive as a smartphone, Pivi Pro provides a specifically adapted navigation system able to give real-time updates on where the nearest available charge station is, how much it will cost and how long it will take to charge. Something those who have already driven an electric vehicle will certainly appreciate.

Fast charging

Another 100% #SoBARNES, feature is the cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 filtration to capture ultrafine particles and allergens. The I-PACE can even filter cabin air while on charge before a journey!

The Jaguar also now comes with a 11kW (AC) domestic wall box (increasingly common)  that can add 53km/33miles of range for each hour of charge for customers with three-phase supplies. Charging the car’s batteries from completely empty to full can therefore be done in just 8 hours and 40 minutes. With a standard charger (generally 7kW), a full charge takes 12 hours and 45 minutes. As for charging on the go, a motorway charge point will charge the I-PACE in less than an hour! The maximum range is 470km/292 miles, not quite enough to drive from Paris to Biarritz in one go but the same goes for all its competitors...

One last thing to note about this upgrade, the front grille surround now in Atlas Grey brings a further and highly appreciable touch of elegance to this Jaguar.
