Seasonal rentals – From Chamonix to Megève

Proud of its global renown when it comes to skiing and mountaineering, Chamonix also has the added bonus of being full of life year-round, in particular thanks to its golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, only the best in the business. Sitting across from Mont Blanc, this small mountain village has carefully preserved its culture and its traditions. Turn of the century luxury hotels stand alongside more recent high-end hotels, while old farms, modern chalets and luxury residences make for amicable neighbours. But the prize for Savoyard living has to go to Megève. Designer boutiques, Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels abound here, but the soul of the resort lies in its old village and its wooden chalets, considered the archetype of mountain charm.

A universe that remains equally attractive in summer, as demonstrated by this selection of chalets available for seasonal rental with BARNES Chamonix and BARNES Megève. Let’s start things off with the Chalet Rock, nestled on the hilltops of Chamonix. Located close to the centre and its entertainment, it affords breathtaking views over the Mont Blanc mountain range. An enticing asset, to be sure, but not one it can claim sole enjoyment to. However, what is absolutely unique is its interior design inspired by a recording studio! Rock & Roll here you come. Our SoBARNES favourite pick has to go to the 6 bedrooms and suites aptly named The Boss, The Beatles, King, Diva, Queen and Kiss…

And we certainly can't find anything to criticise in the chalet’s 16-person capacity, its gym, sauna and 2 outdoor jacuzzis on the terrace with the mountains as the backdrop. Weekly rental price of this gem  starts from €6,650 per week.

Moving onto Megève now with the Chalet des Sens, located on the iconic Mont d’Arbois plateau. le cultissime plateau du Mont d’Arbois. As its name suggests, the chalet appeals to the 5 senses. How easy it would be to lose yourself in the noble materials, the vast array of fittings and the abundant amenities.

It truly does have it all, from the 5 suites to the children’s dorm, the bar, the home cinema, the lounge with its piano, and the games room with its table football table and billiards table. Not to mention the pool and spa, of course. And the icing on the cake? The Bang & Olufsen audio and video system connected to each room. All for the cost of €60,000 per week. And let’s keep it our little secret, but the Chalet des Sens can be joined with its neighbour the Chalet Divinity to total 11 bedrooms!

Let's go to Combloux, now, with the Chalet Privilège, which places the accent on family simplicity and Savoyard tradition. A recipe for relaxing holidays spent in a cocoon of powdery tones. The five suites each offer a cosy sanctuary, complete with a home cinema and jacuzzi.

Mont Blanc even seems within reach of your fingertips as you sit with a good book by the fire (which we highly recommend). Prices start from €6,000 per week.
