Monaco, a destination to watch in 2019

Monaco needs no introduction, with its unique way of life, its watertight security, its unrivalled political stability and its severe lack of construction space.

Located less than thirty minutes from Nice airport (the second busiest international airport in France), Monaco is just two hours from most European capitals.

 Most popular neighbourhoods

The irreplaceable Carré d’Or and its Casino views. The area around Larvotto beach, close to the centre and its facilities. Fontvieille and its marina, which off er green spaces and privacy. Up-and-coming neighbourhoods: La Tour Odéon, renowned for its prestigious features, the One Monte-Carlo development next to the Casino which will off er luxury apartments for rent only, and 26 Carré Or with its premium facilities and services.

Sought-after properties

Small apartments (studios and 1-bedroom) appeal to investors, while larger apartments (2- and 3-bedroom) attract families moving to Monaco.

Clientèle

No fewer than 120 nationalities are represented. Numerous Anglo-Saxon and Nordic families have moved to the area in the last ten years, as well as some Eastern Europeans more recently.

Expectations

The Principality is prized for its political and economic security. Clients expect a bespoke response to their needs that lives up to their investment, stunning products with a view and underground parking. Atypical products like penthouses and mansions (a rare pearl in Monaco) are hugely popular.

Opportunities and outlook

This vibrant market is driven by excess demand. In the face of this ever-growing demand, sellers are now placing apartments renovated in a modern style on the market. Unfortunately, there are very few property developments under construction in the short term, besides the 26 Carré d’Or and One Monte–Carlo scheduled for this year. New sectors are set to be created in the future, such as the “Anse du Portier” which will create a peninsular of approximately six hectares complete with 6,000 housing units by 2025.

What will 1 million euros buy?

A 20 sq. m. studio.
