Chenot Palace – The new benchmark for well-being in Switzerland

The ‘Chenot Method’ is coming to Switzerland! This array of wellness treatments - the culmination of 45 years of global research and experiments conducted by Henri Chenot - is to be fittingly showcased in the canton of Lucerne, in the German-speaking part of Switzerland.

Welcome to the Chenot Palace Weggis, on the shores of Lake Lucerne. This charming early-20th-century manor house undoubtedly sets a new benchmark when it comes to wellness breaks, boasting a truly exceptional setting in which guests seeking the ultimate in relaxation can enjoy the benefits of a variety of treatments developed by Henri Chenot. Catalan by birth but French by adoption, Henri Chenot studied biology before turning his attentions to psychology, Chinese medicine and naturopathy. Having made a name for himself as a result of his revolutionary approach to preventive healthcare, he opened his first Centre at Cannes Polyclinic in 1974. Around the same time, he began to travel around Europe to illustrate to other scientists his idea of preventative healthcare stressing that certain lifestyle choices build up toxins that lead to degenerative diseases.

His revolutionary approach to health through wellness led to the development of his concept of ‘biontology’ (the science of living) and the famous Chenot Method - a therapeutic approach adopted by all Chenot Centres around the world that seeks to rebalance the body’s physiology through a tailored combination of protocols, treatments and diet plans. It also combines the principles of traditional Chinese healing with the latest scientific advances in Western medicine and is based on a motto that Henri Chenot himself has repeated time and again: “We don’t treat disease, we treat wellness”!

Promoting a truly restful sleep

The Weggis facility opened its doors on 11 June 2020, its centrepiece a 5,000 square metre therapeutic spa equipped to perform state-of-the-art diagnoses using advanced examination and treatment methods. Guests at the Chenot Palace will be able to enjoy the benefits of a holistic and personalised medical approach to wellness, complete with tailored programmes to rid themselves of toxins, boost their energy levels and rebalance both body and mind.

The 97 guest rooms and suites with lake, garden or mountain views are housed in both the somewhat romantic old building and the new wooden building. And because “sleep repairs the body and mind” (as Henri Chenot claims), the #SoBARNES touch undoubtedly lies in the ‘sleeping rooms’ that the facility offers, optimised to promote a deep sleep by reducing the number of wake-up reactions during the night. The acoustics here provide a natural auditory sleep environment, as well as natural sounds and lighting at wake up. The technologies used for the acoustics, lighting and bed linen have been scientifically incorporated into the interior design to create a natural sleeping environment that provides a truly restful sleep. The concept really has been pushed to the limit here, to the extent that even the bed linen is made of materials that are activated by body heat to improve sleep quality! After all, what better place to be reaching new heights than right here, surrounded by the Swiss Alps?
