Hit by hurricane Irma in 2017, Saint Barthélemy has managed to rebuild better than before. The luxury hotels and restaurants have regained their splendour and continue to draw visitors to this spectacular island, the cultural scene has been expanded to encompass the latest in-vogue artists from around the world, and the food scene is littered with prestigious chefs. It’s safe to say this 24 sq.km (9 sq.mi) island is an exclusive slice of paradise.
The real estate market
The market has been on an upward trend for the last 40 years. Prices soared by 20% in 2022 and currently range from €20,000 to €30,000 per sq.m. Supply is waning and quality properties are becoming increasingly rare.
Our advice
“Villas on the seafront rarely come up for sale. If one does, don't hang about”.
Focus on the Golden Triangle: Colombier, Saint-Jean and Gustavia for close proximity to road links.
The secret to Saint-Barthélemy “Buying a home with great fittings and fixtures to put on the seasonal rental market is always a sound investment. - Xavier Pignet, director BARNES Saint-Barth
