An apartment by Jean-Louis Deniot in Paris

This apartment listed for sale with BARNES Trocadéro has been entirely redesigned by Jean-Louis Deniot, one of the world’s most in-demand French interior designers. SoBARNES gives you an exclusive private tour.

Having graduated from the École Camondo school of product design and interior architecture, Jean-Louis Deniot founded his own architectural firm in 2000 at the age of 25. He is now considered one of interior design’s international stars and his work has been praised all the way from New York to Milan and Dubai to Hong Kong in Architectural Digest, AD, House & Garden and Elle Déco. The Parisian apartment Françoise Josselin at BARNES Trocadéro is showing is a perfect example of the Jean-Louis Deniot style. A blend of French neoclassical tradition and a contemporary spin, with particular attention to detail and the quality of the materials. It’s certainly no coincidence that the designer has chosen a photo of this apartment for the cover of the book Jean-Louis Deniot Interiors (*)!

Apartments decorated by designers can sometimes favour style over quality of everyday life”, says Françoise Josselin. But not those designed by Jean-Louis Deniot, and particularly not this one that provides the ideal cocoon for a Parisian family”. Just a stone’s throw from Place du Trocadéro, its 260 sq.m. (2,800 sq ft) have been entirely revamped to create chic yet informal sitting rooms and well-separated sleeping quarters, comprising three en-suites including one apparently made for children. “The kitchen, open on the dining room, is one of the finest I’ve ever seen”, exclaims Françoise Josselin. “It’s perfect for cosy and casual dinners around the table that seats 6”.

Jean-Louis Deniot makes a point of ensuring that his interiors are timeless, and it’s certainly true of this apartment in which he has taken decoration to its ultimate level of sophistication. The furniture, accessories and lights have been studied down to the last millimetre, or made to measure specifically for each room. The apartment is incidentally sold furnished, excluding the works of art. Between us, we simply can't resist the coffee table in the lounge made from straw marquetry - a true marvel designed by Jean-Louis Deniot himself.

The apartment is suited to families, or as a high-end luxury pied-à-terre, with Trocadéro as a close neighbour and the Eiffel Tower in the background”, sums up Françoise Josselin. We can certainly see ourselves right at home here, can't you?

The property is on the market for €5,790,000
