10km (6 miles) from Cannes, on the red rocks of the Estérel massif and at the heart of Théoule-sur-Mer, you will find a haven of peace: Port-la-Galère. This coastal town built in the 70s and 80s by the architect Jacques Couëlle is an ode to comfort and amenities. Seawater and freshwater swimming pools, fitness rooms and saunas, exotic gardens and restaurants... Port-la-Galère is devoted to luxury facilities while the beaches and landscapes offer welcome respite from which guests can enjoy the laid-back lifestyle of the French Riviera.
The real estate market
There are 420 apartments and a dozen villas within this resort. All of the apartment have terraces and sea views, with surface areas varying from 60 to 150 sq.m (645 to 1,615 sq ft). Over five years, prices have climbed by 20 to 30%, and by around 15 to 20% in the last two years. Average prices stand at €9,800 per sq.m, although the most coveted properties (>120 sq.m or 1,290 sq ft penthouses) go for between €12,00 and €17,000 per sq.m.
