Going sober, in Italy

Behind the sober façade lies a rich and sumptuous interior. Not for those with a penchant for bling-bling, given that this 26,910 sq ft villa (or should we say small palace at that size?) close to Pisa was built in the 17th century and is listed as a historic building. With its painted frescoes, its trompe-l’œil, its vaulted ceilings and its monumental staircase, it’s sure to set tongues wagging within the family! Despite its exemplary sobriety, some may say it’s a little over the top.. But they’ll get used to it... Rome wasn't built in a day!
