We present you, Beverly Hills.<\/h5>\n<h2>The real home of stardom<\/h2>\n<p>Hollywood, it\u2019s all smoke and mirrors, which is why we\u2019re going behind the scenes into the natural habitat of not only movie stars, but also directors, cinematographers, and musicians who live hidden under the palms and watched over by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sobarnes.com\/en\/united-states\/los-angeles-en\/paradise-sea-beach-amusement-park-activities\/\">Santa Monica<\/a> Mountains<\/strong>. The kingdom of <strong>Beverly Hills<\/strong>, where the real action happens.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, aside from being the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/sobarnes.com\/en\/united-states\/los-angeles-en\/los-angeles-exclusive-neighborhoods-stars-luxury\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">most filmed neighborhood in the world<\/a><\/u>, the art of real life--not the one displayed on reality shows--is performed discreetly, behind huge gates guarding large properties and <u><a href=\"https:\/\/sobarnes.com\/en\/united-states\/los-angeles-en\/luxury-villas-view-pool-real-estate\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">larger mansions<\/a><\/u>\u00a0as well as <strong>modern villas <\/strong>and <strong>M<\/strong><strong>editerranean style duplexes<\/strong>\u00a0peaking out above rows and rows of palm trees.<\/p>\n<p>It may not be surprising that<strong>\u00a0Beverly Hills is the richest per-capita area in the United States<\/strong>, but it may be a bit shocking that it\u2019s bound to<strong>\u00a0less than 6 square miles<\/strong>; and so there is no room for factories, no hospital, no cemetery, no billboards, or anything that suggests life beginning or ending, or even a world beyond these square miles. It is a specialized area, for living only, a testament of a true star.<\/p>\n<p>In the present, <strong>these quiet streets<\/strong>\u00a0hold a <strong>luxury lifestyle<\/strong>, and\u00a0preserving this way of life is key. Since the 1920s, the<strong>\u00a0City of Angels<\/strong>\u00a0has assigned a specialized guardian angel to the scene, known to insiders as the BHPD (<strong>Beverly Hills Police Department<\/strong>). Because of this, <strong>luxury automobiles<\/strong>\u00a0is the preferred means of transportation, while the pedestrian way is ill-advised. But not to worry, even the post offices offer valet parking. As a result, the streets remain pristine, lawns manicured and green, and crime nearly nonexistent.<\/p>\n<h2>Celebrities, they\u2019re just like us<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s OK to admit it, we\u2019ve all wondered: What\u2019s it like to be famous? We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the truth is they\u2019re just like you and us (sort of).<\/p>\n<p>They get fresh groceries at the <strong>Beverly Hills Market &amp; Deli<\/strong>\u00a0and Whole Foods, of course. They do their shopping at luxury boutiques on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sobarnes.com\/en\/united-states\/los-angeles-en\/rodeo-drive-famous-street-beverly-hills-los-angeles\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rodeo Drive<\/a><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and the surrounding <strong>Golden Triangle<\/strong>.\u00a0They stay in tip-top shape at <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.popsugar.com\/fitness\/Speedplay-Fitness-Class-Review-42931573\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Speedplay<\/a><\/u>,\u00a0the penthouse gym, and <strong>Equinox<\/strong>\u00a0(a given). They have Sunday \u201cjazz brunch\u201d at the <strong>Polo Lounge<\/strong>\u00a0in the Pink Palace. When on the go, they get dessert from Sprinkle Cupcakes and their 24\/7 cupcake dispenser (we never said they weren\u2019t innovative). And sometimes, they sleep at the <strong>iconic Beverly Hills Hotel (<\/strong>aka the Pink Palace).<\/p>\n<h3>They live among landmarks<\/h3>\n<p>We are 99.9% sure that Beverly Hills holds the record for the most landmarks in the smallest amount of area (check Guinness and get back to us). We\u2019re talking the <strong>Greystone Mansion<\/strong>, where our favorite scenes from The Big Lebowski were shot; the <strong>Beverly Wilshire<\/strong>, where the Woman became Pretty, and got her happy ending. By the way, the headquarters of the <strong>Academy of Motion Picture Arts &amp; Science<\/strong>\u00a0(the people who give out Oscars) are here, just in case you have a bone to pick.<\/p>\n<p>Just take a drive down <strong>Beverly and Canon Drive<\/strong>, home to the most famous palm trees popularized by Beverly Hillbillies; Beverly Hills City Hall from Beverly Hills Cops, and <strong>Beverly Hills High School<\/strong>--did we mention that this neighborhood was particularly vain?-- with alumni like Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. \u00a0<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>They raise families, too<\/h3>\n<p>On the note of education, let us not forget the most important similarity between us and celebs: they have families. Although many child stars opt for homeschooling, there are many options for the more traditional route, such as the <strong>Beverly Hills Unified School District<\/strong>. However the prestigious <strong>Marymount High School<\/strong>\u00a0is not too far away in the Bel Air neighborhood.
