Riva is not a boat like any other. It is a legend. The Italian constructor looks back at its numerous movie appearances – as the guest star – in this fabulous short film in the form of a love letter to Venice.

Riva, or the history of a motorboat from the 50s that revolutionised yachting with its sleek and pure lines, its mahogany sheathing and the power of its US-made V8 engine. It was on his return from America that naval engineer Carlo Riva decided to create a European equivalent of the impressive Chris-Craft runabouts. But better in every way. Thus the Riva legend was born, becoming the craft of choice for the jet set, movie stars and royalty (led by Rainier III and Grace of Monaco) in the space of just a few years. Water skiing had never been more chic, whether on the Italian lakes or the Riviera.

The great film directors also went crazy for Riva boats, placing them in the spotlight on the silver screen for sixty years. The Sarnico yard (Lombardy) has therefore decided to pay tribute to the 7th art with Riva in the Movie, a short film starring Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino:
