Dinner at Philippe’s?

Of course! The talented Chef Philippe Chevrier, whose gastronomy specializes in delighting Genevan taste buds, invites us to his trendy restaurant on the famous Rue du Rhône in the Passage des Lions. When we want to feel like the guests of honor, we go to Chez Philippe.

This passionate chef has stopped at nothing, opening 10 restaurants, winning 2 Michelin stars, and scoring a coveted 19/20 from Gault & Millau. Plus, his new “authentic grill house” concept, with its New York flair, is a welcome addition to the Geneva food scene.

Make reservations at Chez Philippe for a business lunch, dinner with friends, or a date to enjoy a delicious meal in a cozy-chic atmosphere. Resembling a fashionable meatpacking district, the restaurant features red brick walls, wood flooring, and a beautiful metal staircase that leads guests to the dining room, which is elegantly dotted with white tablecloths. It’s hard not to notice les bon crus in the glass-walled cellar, a beautifully lit centerpiece. Surrounding it is impeccable decor, a lively ambiance, and a kitchen known for bringing the heat.

The menu is refined and especially geared towards carnivores. The meats served have no single address, rather they are international and come from Japan (Kobe Wagu), Ireland (Agnus), and the Swiss Alpine pastures from the Grande Boucherie du Molard, a Genevan institution since 1921. The “meats of the sea” also make an appearance in the form of fish, lobster, gambas, and other seafood creations.

For Philippe Chevrier, cooking is a form of art, and in his house, meats are grilled over beach wood charcoal, a famous for its healthier virtues while still providing maximum flavor. We can only warn you, his menu has the power to put you at odds with yourself. But one thing’s for sure: With just one look at the dessert list, you won’t be able to resist the Empire State Building meringue with vanilla and red fruit.

In every season, Chez Philippe is truly the go-to restaurant for the Genevois and visitors alike. On sunny days, the glass-covered terrace is particularly popular. And though there’ll be a gentle breeze to refresh you and an intimate view of the water, the majestic Lake Geneva is not to be confused with the Hudson.

Between us, Philippe Chevrier is the cover star of the third Switzerland Edition of BARNES LUXURY HOMES. Up-to-date with the best addresses in the city and surrounding area, the dynamic team at the BARNES real estate agency in Geneva has deemed Chez Philippe one of their favorite restaurants to share gourmet moments with privileged clients.

Lastly, don’t forget to book in advance - it’s always packed
