There’s a reason why the village of Saint-Tropez and its port have drawn people from around the world since the 1960s! From its buzzing nightlife to its glamorous beaches, the peninsula is truly one of a kind. And what better way to see for yourself than with a seasonal rental?
All it took was one film to give Saint-Tropez its cult status. Roger Vadim’s And God Created Woman (1956) may have placed Brigitte Bardot in the spotlight, but it also brought to the forefront the charms of this little port previously only known to painters. And the rest is history... So have things changed 65 years on, in 2021? Of course. The port is now home to immense private yachts, the peninsula has been built up and its beaches enhanced with amenities, and gourmet restaurants, 5* hotels and luxury boutiques now abound. Yet at the same time, nothing has changed. The Saint-Tropez spirit lives on, a blend of eccentricity and discretion, extravagant jet set parties and peaceful family holidays
Despite its procession of health restriction, summer 2020 raised the profile of the French Riviera among European clients, and the French in particular. Which no doubt explains the infatuation with Saint-Tropez leading up to the 2021 season. But fear not, Alison Latessa from the BARNES Saint-Tropez office has prepared a selection of properties still available for seasonal rental for latecomers. Including these three gems.
Let’s start with one of the most stunning properties available this summer on the peninsula:
Built on 86,000 sq ft of parkland in Gigaro, it comprises a main dwelling and two guest wings, totalling 10,775 sq ft of living space (enough to host grandiose receptions worthy of Arabian Nights!). What more can we tell you, other than it comes with 11 en suites, several kitchens including a professional kitchen, a heated pool, an array of terraces, a helipad and a gym, all just minutes from the beach and the port? Oh and its price, of course: from €55,000 per week.
Moving on to this BARNES exclusive, located in the inner sanctum, the Parcs de Saint-Tropez private estate. Complete with 3 spacious and light-filled en suites, as well as a delightful pool house facing the large heated pool (16x6m - 52x20ft).
It goes without saying that privacy is the watchword at this villa, given its location within a gated community. Nothing will drag you away from the poolside, served by the pool house with its summer kitchen and staff bedroom. Services include wardens, daily cleaning, household linen, pool linen and a personalised concierge service. A 3,724 sq ft property available from €18,750 per week.
Now let’s head to Grimaud for a change of scene with this surprising contemporary property. Just a few miles from the port of Saint-Tropez, its overlooks 5 acres of grounds stretching to the hillside.
No-one could fail to be awed by the design of this marvel devoted to the art of living at the heart of nature. Its 6,458 sq ft are sleekly divided into 6 bedrooms (including a 5-bed dorm) and living and reception spaces, while the interior and exterior blend into one thanks to the fabulous terraces. The heated pool has a pool house with a summer kitchen, but the more athletic among you can finish up your laps with a few rallies on the tennis court. Tempting, to say the least! Villa Haiana is available to rent from €20,000 per week.
Just a taste of some of the high-flying properties still available for all or part of the summer with BARNES Saint-Tropez. But as Alison Latessa warns, they’re quickly being snapped up as we get closer to the deadline….
