Chez Germain, the speakeasy 2.0

All of France’s bars may be closed, as lockdown dictates, but that won't stop a visit to Chez Germain, the incredible online digital pub created by liqueur-maker St-Germain.

Think you’ve seen it all in digital experiences since spring? You’ll think again when you visit Chez Germain, a traditional bar in a private, digital and interactive format. Call a spade a spade, St-Germain has invented the speakeasy 2.0! The elderflower liqueur so loved by barmen has developed a really quite fun immersive platform: once you’ve entered the password (don't worry, there are plenty of clues), the doors of the bar open and invite you to discover the brand’s history, explanations of what elderflower is (might that be the password? try it in French perhaps...), cocktail recipes with videos, and even a chat with the barman.

Our favourite feature is the jazz playlist in true Saint-Germain-des-Prés style (naturally), including everything from Django Reinhardt to Miles Davis, Sidney Bechet and Ella Fitzgerald. It won't take you long to find it...

Are you ready to follow us? There it is: Chez-Germain

And this can be our little secret (another one): made in France using fresh elderflower blossom, St-Germain liqueur was created in 2007 by an American captivated by the charms of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Rob Cooper. It must have been in his blood, because his grandfather N.J. Sky Cooper was none other than the creator of the raspberry liqueur Chambord, in 1987, another bartender classic.

Alas for our English-speaking friends, Chez-Germain only exists in French. But that doesn’t mean you can't enjoy it anyway.
