Dior is back in class

Because elegance knows no age, Dior is presenting an all-new Fall-Winter children’s collection - what could be more #SoBARNES ?

Inspired by Agatha Christie’s imagination, Cordelia de Castellane, Artistic Director of Baby Dior, has designed the Fall-Winter 2020-2021 collection as a veritable enchanted odyssey from the banks of the Nile to the spellbinding landscapes traversed by the Orient Express. To start the journey, ethereal tulle skirts, velvet jackets and dresses sprinkled with paillettes appear in a palette of powdery pinks, evoking the magnificence of Egyptian sunsets.

In harmony with these delicate creations, little boys’ wardrobes are composed of sophisticated looks in navy and beige, reflecting the Dior art of tailoring. The collection also makes a stop-over in a snowy paradise along the Danube. Reinvented with drawings of hot air balloons, butterflies or elephants, the iconic toile de Jouy Monsieur Dior so loved adorns, in tone-on-tone, shirts and blue sweats for boys. On girls’ coats and dresses, it appears etched with gold. With magical lightness, pleated white skirts recall powdery snowfall.

Timeless houndstooth

Amidst these dreamscapes, the Dior Oblique motif enhances the lining of a black vinyl parka and also appears in a subtly sparkly version. The curves of the “CD” logo grace sweaters, sailor-stripe tops, belts and shoes. Timeless houndstooth embellishes ensembles and dresses, while the emblematic Bar jacket first created by Christian Dior in 1947 is reinterpreted as a total look in blue denim or beige cotton gabardine. A cotton and cashmere shirt reprises the gradated colours of the sky; a unisex windbreaker and sneakers complete these children’s looks.

Designed for teens, these pieces invite all manner of mixing and matching, to personalize beyond gender and styles — and to embark for a fairytale wonderland.
