In the Big Mamma family, we want the mother East Mamma, the father Ober Mamma and the newborn Mamma Primi.
The baby of the family opened its doors in the 17th arrondissement of Paris in the Batignolles neighborhood, to the delight of Trattoria lovers. At Mamma Primi, it's Mamma’s Italy with 100% Italian products, and we really love this authenticity.
Upon this pretty terrace on the Rue des Dames, the birds sing in a tune of the opera, the atmosphere is cheerful and friendly, success is there. The waiters are flustered between the tables and kitchens, always with a smile or a charming little word (in Italian, as it is and will remain). We feel good here, at Mamma Primi. The flowers are at the party, both inside and out. Besides, our heart is torn between the terrace and its large bay window, framed by ivy and foliage. The interior is welcoming, brightest where the ambiance is in full swing. In any case, it’s a breath of fresh air and joy in the middle of Paris.
As for the dishes: they are simply ravishing, made of faience with colorful patterns. Inside (of the dishes), the emphasis is on the "Primi Piatti," fresh pasta, handmade on the spot by "Chef Stella," the dedicated hand and soul of the Pasta: to us, the tortellini Mantovani, the cappelletto and gnocchis De La Mer ... With a palm d’or for Capio e Pepe pasta, the famous pasta prepared in a Pecorino cheese wheel.
Oh yes, let’s not forget, we give another palm for its pizza. And we’re not the only ones, a big French newspaper just announced it "the best wood-fired pizza in Paris."
For desserts, Mamma Mia, you cannot leave without trying the generous Tiramisu with banana. Absolutely insane.
The ambiance, the warmth of Italy, the good wine, and the real cuisine of an Italian Mamma is the winning combination to the Mamma Primi's success, a Bravissimo without fail. Don’t even think about making a reservation - it’s first come, first served.
